The mind can often heal itself naturally, in the same way as the body does. Much of this natural coping mechanism occurs during sleep, particularly during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. Francine Shapiro developed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in 1987, utilizing this natural process in order to successfully treat Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). EMDR is used to effectively treat a wide range of mental health problems.
CBT is based on the idea that the way we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion), and how we act (behavior) all interact together and influence each other so that a change in one area will affect the other two.
It’s a skills-based treatment which it bases in the belief that we do the best we can at a certain moment. It involves both individual counselling and skills learning.
Is based in the belief that our lives are shaped by stories based on our ideas, values, culture, etc. A person is not comprised of a single story, but of several stories that are interconnected.
Aids the client to focus on his own solution and/or goals, and create themselves the path to accomplish it.
Is a specific approach to therapy that recognizes and emphasizes understanding how the traumatic experience impacts the mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being of an individual.

Counselling sessions
Free 15 min. counselling
If you’re a new client looking for counselling, I offer a free 15 min consultation via phone.
What’s the purpose?
The purpose of this consultation is getting to know each other. The connection with your counsellor accounts for a 30% of the therapeutic process. Meeting the counsellor, getting a feel for their personality and finding out if you feel comfortable is very important. But don’t worry, there’s no pressure. If you find we’re not the best fit for you, we can help you out with referrals.
Individual sessions
Individual sessions are as per the College of Psychologists of Alberta (click here).
I offer both in person and online sessions. Please inquire about availability.
Drop-in sessions / open phone
You can always reach out if you’re having a hard day or you’re struggling to process difficult events. You can send an email to your counsellor to discuss the issue during the next session or I will try my best to accommodate you for a drop-in session the same day.
WHY BREEZE?
A powerful reason
Breeze counselling psychology comes from the concept of resilience. It reminds me of how the breeze bends the branches of the tress and these come back to their original position transformed. For me it shows how people get back up after facing challenges, transformed.
“It is the ability of the human being to face adversity, overcome it and be transformed by it.”
